We spent some time recently living in Glastonbury, in Somerset, England, a place steeped in history and legend. The name Glastonbury is said to come from the time when Glastonbury was a flood plain, the tor, a natural giant hill in the landscape reflected on the water like Glass, hence the name Glastonbury, Glass-on-bury Bury being an old English word for hill.
